Description
When it comes to inspiring underachieving gifted students, a one-size-fits-all approach just won’t work. In this course, Lori Comallie-Caplan helps parents and teachers understand some of the root causes of underachievement. She offers suggestions on how to create a climate that fosters motivation, and then, how to sustain that motivation once students find it.
In this 1-hour course, you will learn:
- Frequent reasons for a lack of motivation
- Definitions of underachievement and selective achievement
- How to recognize different types of underachievers
- Specific recommendations for each type of underachiever
This course is aligned with 2016 ODE Teacher Competencies d, e, and NAGC Teacher Preparation Standards 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, and 5.5.

Lots of information, but a bit much to take everything in, and not overly interactive.
