Description
Differentiation for gifted learners is not the same as differentiation in a regular classroom. In this 1-hour course, Richard M. Cash, Ph.D. draws from years of research and personal experience in gifted education to offer ideas for differentiating gifted courses. He discusses the various levels of the teaching and learning continuum and uses a framework to guide students toward greater learning autonomy through self-confidence.
In this course, you will learn to:
- Use pace to accelerate instructional practice
- Incorporate depth and complexity into your gifted courses
- Increase sophistication in the course through critical questioning

Dr. Cash really digs into the process of getting students to think and work with depth and complexity, especially the gifted students. He is very thorough. He presented a lot of information and ideas. It was mostly geared toward a history or english class, but he mentions it can work for a math class, but it will take some work to get there.
