Divergent and convergent thinking aren’t opposites; they are partners in facilitating creative and critical thinking. Join Heather Clark, the Gifted Coordinator for the Licking County Educational Service Center to learn the defining features of divergent and convergent thinking, their strengths, weaknesses, and how to incorporate each type of thinking into classroom instruction.
In this 1-hour course you will explore:
- The differences between divergent and convergent thinking
- How divergent and convergent thinking can work together to facilitate critical and creative thinking
- How to adapt classroom activities to encourage creative and critical thinking
