Discover how to increase the rigor of instruction and provide Multilingual Learners (MLs) the opportunity to exhibit in-depth, complex thinking while increasing achievement and English proficiency. When you complete this session, you’ll understand how to combine sheltered instruction with gifted strategies to raise the bar and help your multilingual students reach their full potential.

Kaplan’s model of Depth and Complexity coupled with sheltered instruction raises the bar for all MLs, especially gifted MLs. Activities that engage students in listening, speaking, reading, and writing using sentence stems and other sheltered instruction strategies designed to help them think in in-depth, complex ways will be shared.

      I loved this course because it provide specific activities that I can implement in the classroom. It scaffolds, specially for those teachers that are barely introduced to the Depth and Complexity icons and also for those that need to merge both GT and EB methods of teaching.
