I appreciated hearing from an AP Language teacher on how she handles writing in her class by pulling topics the students are familiar with and if not, introducing them to the topic in order to use as discussion, then reading and writing purposes. Lots of great ideas on how to focus writing improvement too.
Nicole – ALAMO HEIGHTS ISD (verified owner) –
I chose this course because I was thinking it was about AP language in general not the ap language course, but it made me really think about how to incorportate wrtiing in the AP science curriculum other than just FRQs.

In addition to the vague questioning, I found the majority of this course to be biased and pointless… some of the examples could have been quickly glossed over instead of being the focus. I disagree with most of the American Dream conversation. I would recommend that some of these people referenced, in pop culture, be reconsidered as examples to teach to children since many of them have been found to be a party to crimes against humanity in recent years.
Russell – CUERO ISD (verified owner) –
The course is a extremely thorough presentation.

Based on what I’ve seen, Dr. Schaeffer’s AP Language and Composition course appears to be exceptionally well-designed and engaging. Her emphasis on critical thinking, effective writing, and understanding diverse perspectives aligns perfectly with the goals of the AP curriculum. The incorporation of challenging exercises, such as writing from opposing viewpoints, fosters deep intellectual engagement and skill development among students. Additionally, the thematic focus on topics like the American Dream and American Exceptionalism provides a rich context for exploring complex issues and honing analytical skills.

chevy – BEXLEY CITY (verified owner) –
This is not really about AP, it is just a teacher talking about the what texts she uses with her students, and these texts are all just American canon-type stuff, ironically, it is not very revolutionary.
