A drop in students’ ablility to orally express themselves, lack of empathy for others, and an inability to think critically. Everything he stated is absolutely true, but how do we get the parents who have these children in their most formative years birth to 4 get away from the screen and go back to talking to each other and being teachers through play, when parents are glued to their phones as well? Yes, I do everything I can in my classroom to be “in person” or away from technology, to foster mental growth, but I can only do so much, for when they go home and that is what they are subjected to and told “that is the way we do things”?
