Description
One of the best ways to help stimulate critical thinking skills — an essential part of students’ development — is to build discussion into the classroom. Whether in pairs, groups, or as a class, discussing content with one another challenges students to engage with the information at a higher level, while developing creative and critical thinking skills. In Strategies for Critical Thinking, Bob Iseminger walks through several methods for creating discussion opportunities in the classroom.
These strategies include:
- Think-Pair-Share
- Traveling talk
- Grouping
- Take a stand

It is just strategies being discussed and modeled. I personally think it is two dry, which means kind of boring. I would like to see more color, energy, more interactive in terms of modeling students work and not just conversation to get them talking.
