Description

All teachers can identify the underachievers in their classes, but did you know there are “hidden underachievers” waiting to be challenged? In this course Carolyn Coil identifies the characteristics of underachievers with an emphasis on this hidden group. You will learn the patterns and behaviors of students who don’t push themselves and strategies for challenging them to rise to their potential.

In this 6-hour course, you will learn:
  • Five different types of underachievers with emphasis on the “hidden” group
  • Definitions and patterns of underachievement
  • Graphic organizers of ways different underachievers show up in our classroom
  • Strategies – is there supposed to be more to this?

  14. Ronda – Houston Area Co-op for GT (verified owner)

This was a great course to be able to look for those students who generally get lost in the classroom.
I would however take out the clown picture. I am one of those people that have trauma when seeing them so it made it really hard to focus during that module.

  17. Angela – WESTERVILLE CITY (verified owner)

The content and Dr. Coil was really informative and helpful for my teaching and parenting. Perhaps it’s not available or I missed it, but I couldn’t locate the packet/handout she referenced throughout the course. I think that would have been helpful. Some of the sections were very long compared to others. If possible, perhaps having an expected time to complete the module at the onset would be helpful for other learners.
