It is like one is given permission to skip some materials that the state demands. I love the idea of being responsive to the students achievement levels and giving teacher greater freedom to cover more material in depth.
John – SOUTHWEST ISD (verified owner) –
Would be better if it wasn’t focused on Ohio. Lots of potential for an overarching overview of the concepts.

This course will allow a teacher to implement additional instructional strategies to enhance the quality of learning for students. It allows a teacher to put more emphasis on newly introduced material and deeper depth by being able to eliminate or shorten the teaching time on previously mastered skills.

This session isn’t based in Texas, so many of the resources they talk about do not help. In addition, they didn’t talk about social studies or how to compact curriculum when the grade prior to your class isn’t teaching the standards.
