Students spend more and more time on the internet in both social and academic capacities. With this increase in internet usage, cyberbullying has become more prominent. Cyberbullying has many of the same characteristics as in-person bullying, but presents some unique challenges due to the digital nature of the formats in which it takes place. This 1-hour course covers the different types of cyberbullying, how to address them, as well as educators’ ethical and legal responsibilities.
