Description

It used to be that society was separated into two classes: the smart and the creative (or left brained/right brained). Today, we know that creativity is an essential key to success for every student. In “Encouraging Creativity” Nicole Shannon explores why creative thinking is so important today, debunks creative myths, and shares activities you can use in your classroom.

In this 1-hour course, you will learn:

  • Core principles in creative thinking from thought leaders like Sir Ken Robinson, Michael Michalko and Ian Byrd
  • Practical strategies for inspiring your students to think creatively
  • The connection between creativity and long-term success for students
  • Strategies for using creativity to offset the stresses of standardized testing

    30. Gene – VAN WERT CITY (verified owner)

Good course. Speaker talks on a bit long in each slide. PROBLEMS WITH THE SOFTWARE!!!!!! When I was told to go back to another slide to visit a web site to answer another question, and returned to do so, the responses I had painstakingly typed to the other essay questions had all disappeared. AUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

Also: a little of this training goes a long way. I am being required to complete hours upon hours of it. That ruins it.

    31. Melissa – VAN WERT CITY (verified owner)

I thought this was an okay course. I was really hoping to get more ideas on how to use creativity in my own classroom. I felt that this course was more about people that are creative and why they are creative.

    32. Cathy – Bulloch County Schools (verified owner)

      Great – very interesting!

    33. Peter – TEAYS VALLEY LOCAL (verified owner)

I really gained a lot from this presentation. There’s a lot of great discussions about the creative process and about people who are creative. You can also get some practical ideas for your classroom out of this one. That said, there are some points where this one focus more on the people and less on the practice (especially Sir Ken Robinson). But otherwise, I really enjoyed it!

Very informative with a lot of useful information and links to find more information that will be helpful in the classroom.

    38. Richard – CARLISLE LOCAL (verified owner)

This course was to broadly focused on to many creators. This should have been narrowed down to strategies and data that shows their effectiveness. I would find this more useful if it was more specific.

I enjoyed this training. It helps you to see how you can find creativity everywhere.
