Even though I have been teaching for 15 years and using small groups for the majority of that time, I still learned new things from this course. It reminded me of the importance of teaching students how to work in groups before expecting them to do so successfully. I also gained great ideas for how to group my kids that I had not thought of before.

This is a great training I think for all teachers, because we thought that when we put kids in group we are already giving them the chance to do collaboratively, not knowing that there are also principles to bear in mind when we group them.

Please note that the correct answer for the last question about a CASUAL cluster was not listed. I chose “none of the above” and that answer was marked incorrect. However, in the presentation, a cluster ( definition of a cluster was what was considered correct) is different from a CASUAL cluster. According to the presentation, a casual cluster is when (for ex.) I take 2 GT students from my class and let them work with a few GT from another class. That answer was not provided- and that is what a CASUAL cluster is according to this presentation.
