No matter how long we teach guided reading, it is always good to be reminded of things we might forget in the middle of a crazy day at school. I very much recommend this PD. Just as Jennifer Leal encouraged us to set a purpose for reading with our students, she modeled that in her presentation; her purpose in teaching us about guided reading, she presented purposeful objectives which were clearly presented and met.

I think that this was a good course. The video stopped in the middle, but the notes allowed me to continue with it. I will say the beginning made it difficult to know what the course as about and I was almost turned off by the speaker as she seemed to be leaning to the GT kids are better than everyone view that I have seen in many GT trainings. I really liked the examples and explanations of the “Read to, Read with, and Read by.” I already do the Read to process she uses, so it was nice to see it in a training.
