Description
Making sure gifted students have quality instruction and challenging assignments is widely popular in the education world. But do you know exactly what it means to be gifted and why it matters? This six-hour course, “Identification & Assessment of the Gifted,” addresses issues surrounding gifted students and practical ways to identify them.
Lisa Van Gemert, a leading voice in gifted education, shares an overview of the history of gifted education and its importance today. Educators will also learn how to tell whether or not a student is gifted by using different tests and assessments. Teachers who have a thorough understanding of how to identify and assess gifted students will be able to equip and challenge these students better.
In this informative course educators will learn:
- What it means to be gifted
- Characteristics of gifted children
- How to test intelligence
- The importance of CLD populations
- Traits of twice-exceptional students

Common Sense.
Libertime – PRESIDIO ISD (verified owner) –

I have a difficult time with these videos. The speaker is not very concise, and sitting through jokes and brain breaks is insulting when we have so much to do. These things overshadow the useful information in the videos.
The topics covered are things that many teachers already know, and could have been covered in a much shorter time frame.
Macey – BOLING ISD (verified owner) –
This course has expanded my thoughts on GT.
Pragati – CORPUS CHRISTI ISD (verified owner) –
