  1. Lisa – PFLUGERVILLE ISD (verified owner)

This course has many tips and hints to help gifted students become motivated and challenged. The one thing I have not liked about the courses is the tone of voice Dr. Juntune uses to narrate when teachers or students have opposing opinions or are complaining. A mocking tone is degrading and the point could be gotten across without the tone by just relating the story.

  38. Stephanie – SOCORRO ISD (verified owner)

  39. Robert – MIDLAND ISD (verified owner)

In my opinion, the course needs to provide a statistical analysis comparing the “nature” of the populations that are “average” and that are gifted. The course states that gifted students are this and regular students are that. And it is difficult to trust the proposed trends without data. For example, the course stated that gifted kids are intrinsically motived and “average” kids are extrinsically motivated. However, what percentage of gifted kids are intrinsically motivated and what percentage of “average” kids are intrinsically motivated? Is this based on a slight majority like 51% of gifted are intrinsically motivated or an overwhelming majority like 99% of gifted kids are intrinsically motivated? In vernacular, we would say for both cases that gifted kids are intrinsically motivated. However, policy decided on a 1% margin would result in a significant number of poorly served students.
