Description
It used to be that intelligence and giftedness were solely based on I.Q. and test scores. As our understanding of giftedness and the brain has expanded, the means of assessing and identifying gifted students have also expanded. In this course, “Screening, Assessment, and Identification of the Gifted”, Joyce Juntune Ph.D., draws from her vast knowledge and experience in gifted education to present invaluable tools for identifying gifted students using a variety of different methods.
In this 6-hour course, you will learn about:
- Definitions and unique characteristics of giftedness
- The role of intelligence in gifted students
- Methods of screening students for signs of giftedness
- Suggestions and guidelines for gifted programs
- Scoring tests
- Differences between testing boys and girls
And much more!

This whole training was horrible! Too long and way too much chit chat. While there are relevant ideas shared, it could have been summed up. The extended duration was ridiculous. Many of the response questions were also boring and irrelevant.

I think it would be fun to be in the training class with others. I wish we could actually all take each of the intelligence tests so we can evaluate and understand each of them. It is interesting that there are so many methods for assessing intelligence and that it is not an exact science. I wonder if we could do brain scans of corpus collossum and use that as a tool for GT testing. Because having extra white matter is what identifies those as genius, right? Problems with high GT kids being born to rich parents and a society of scaling of brain matter…. ok, maybe not. Let us take the intelligence tests!
