Description

Gifted students all come from different backgrounds and have different influences that affect the ways they think and learn. Even though all gifted students may have some traits in common, we must be careful to treat them each as individuals and honor each one’s own unique background.

In this one-hour course, educators will explore:

  • Gender roles, their effects on students, and the main conflicts students have when it comes to societal expectations
  • Cultural differences encountered by minority gifted students
  • Ways to support all gifted students in the classroom and general school setting

ODE Competencies: D, E
NAGC Teacher Preparation Standards: 1, 2

interviewers ask questions to learn more about you and to find out things other than what may be on your application or resume. Interviewers may ask about your course selection to learn more about your personality, interests and goals.
