I think that the course focuses on fiction reading, but many of the ideas could be applied to non-fiction reading, too. Many of the ideas require the students to relate the reading to their own experiences, which is very important in high school (‘why do we have to know this?”)

This course is geared toward young students and not high schoolers, more specifically younger students studying ELA. As a teacher of senior and college level sciences it is completely irrelevant.
