Thinking Outside the Book is an ideal course for educators looking for resources to guide students toward creating unique and complex assignments. You’ll learn to lead them to have a deeper response to quality literature, which will ultimately help their love and respect for reading.
In this one-hour course you will learn to incorporate a variety of media to differentiate responses and push your students toward thinking and creating outside the book.
Trainers Sheila Mulbry and Nicole Shannon share their personal best-practices on:
- Using mysteries in literature
- Developing puzzle fiction projects
- Creating personal response papers
- Identifying themes and vocabulary in literature

This was not what I expected from the description, and I don’t think that I would ever use most of these things with high school students, especially outside of the language arts discipline. I was not engaged at all with this course and had to force myself to pay attention and finish.
