The Aspiring Leader 1 Academy is ideal for teachers who have completed their master’s programs and principalship certification.
All Academies are a year-long program based on the level of the academy purchased. Monthly relevant and timely topics are presented by master-level administrators via online courses, with deep dive sessions, plan and collaborative project experiences, and mentorship available. In addition, all Academy participants have access to an exclusive, private virtual social media group to ask questions and seek advice from other participants and dedicated master-level administrators who have held positions just like yours.
Any recorded session (Online course, Deep Dive, Plan and Collaborate) is available any time during the year-long Academy.
All PD courses, Deep Dive Sessions, & Plan and Collaborate sessions are up to one hour each. In a given month, training may take 4-10 hours, depending upon the level of the Academy.
Our content providers are from multiple states including Texas, New York, Virginia, and Colorado to name a few. The topics presented and discussed should cover valuable training for campus administrators from any state.
Networking is an important part of the Academies. We encourage participants to engage with the exclusive private virtual social media group, as well as connect with participants within the live Deep Dive sessions, Plan and Collaborate sessions, and by building a network of colleagues from similar size districts and campuses.
Each month a schedule is created to include the online courses. These courses are available beginning the first day of the month. Live Deep Dive and Plan Collaborate sessions will be available several times a month with sessions available during the school day, after hours, and some weekends. Mentoring sessions are as needed and arranged with the individual mentor.
Online PD
Each online professional development course is available for the duration of the school year – July through June.
Deep Dive Sessions
A Deep Dive Session is a live session with a master-level administrator allowing reflection, discussion, and networking for participants. Multiple sessions for each topic will be available with one session per topic recorded for makeup. Each topic will have focused Deep Dive session opportunities.
Participants are given time to reflect on what was presented in the online course. The participants will have the opportunity to discuss application of the information presented and ask questions to the master-level administrator serving as the facilitator as well as to the other participants. The key is to learn from each other while networking and making connections for future support and collaboration.
Each Deep Dive Session is one hour.
While we recommend each participant attend the live Deep Dive Session for a richer experience, we understand circumstances may prevent attending one of the multiple live sessions. One recorded session will be available for makeup and review.
Plan & Collaborate Sessions
There are two Plan and Collaborate sessions for a particular topic. The projects are typical tasks that all campus administrators will need to do as part of regular duties. Not all topics have a Plan and Collaborate project. The Plan and Collaborate project has two one-hour sessions. One is recorded where the administrator outlines the project and the steps to take to complete the project, and the second one-hour live session allows the participants to present what they learned while discussing the process and product developed.
For each project, the participant will need to watch the one-hour course explaining the project which will be available at the beginning of the month. A second live session will be offered toward the end of the month to give time for participants to develop a plan for completing the task to present in the second session. During the second session, participants will share the process they went through as well as the product that may be completed so that others can learn from each other and provide feedback.
While we recommend each participant attend the live Plan and Collaborative Session for a richer experience, we understand circumstances may prevent attending one of the multiple live sessions, and one recorded session will be available for makeup and review.
Exclusive Virtual Social Media groups
Once a participant is registered for the School Leadership Academy, an invitation for each academy will be sent to the participant to join. Participants will want to regularly check into the group to see questions and suggestions shared as well as adding individual participants and contributors to your network of support.
Mentoring
Yes, you can choose your own mentor. We will provide a list of mentors with biographical information and contact information so you can select a mentor who may be of interest and a good fit for support.
All mentors have served as campus-level administrators and have been vetted through our Learning Department.
The sessions have an hour carved out in case that much time is needed, but can be completed in as little as 30 minutes in some cases. This will depend on the level of input needed from the mentors.
You will contact the mentor of your choice directly from the list provided in the mentoring section on your leadership dashboard. You will then make the arrangements for the day and time.
